Kojima Station Episode 8 (ENGLISH + TPP Footage!!!)

Above is the English version of the latest episode of Kojima Station. Sean Eyestone, Ken Mendoza, and Ludvig Forssell were actually having a lot of technical difficulties during the live stream that I was watching so this is their shortened edited version, cutting out the first 15 or so minutes of video cuts. In this episode they also discuss the journey the MGS franchise has had over its 25 years and go into the scale comparison of The Phantom Pain map size versus all the previous MGS games put together. Fast forwarding to 20:50 will get you to the same minute and a half’s worth of TPP gameplay that was shown in the Japanese episode. This is virtually the same gameplay sequence, showing the return of the BOX and the few techniques that players can do while it is equipped.

For the Japanese episode you can jump in here.

Kojima Station Episode 10 (JAPANESE + TPP Footage!!!)

Hey folks I know I haven’t been on for a good while. It’s always that kind of way about this thing we call Life. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t kept up on the MGS goodies. At this point those who follow up on MGS news as much as I do probably consumed quite a bit of info in the last few months. Since E3 is coming next week the info has been coming at a steadier pace.

Kojima Station – Episode 05 with Robin Atkin Downes

Kojima Station – Episode 05 with Robin Atkin Downes

This latest episode has Kazuhira Miller voice actor himself, Robin Atkin Downes. The intro is pretty funny, actually had me cracking up hard for a few moments! It’s always interesting for me to see the actual actors themselves outside of the characters they play, then to Hear them speak in the character’s voice is a bit disarming, and highly entertaining at the same time. For the Japanese episode (episode 6) with Kojima and Shinkawa, Watch here. Anyways, enjoy.

MGSV Exclusive Content NOT So Exclusive Anymore

According to the Japanese version of KOJIMA STATION Episode 6, the exclusive content for the Playstation (DEJA VU Mission) and Xbox (JAMAIS VU Mission) will be brought to all platforms across the board. Previously, these exclusive missions were unlocked after collecting all the XOF patches around Camp Omega. Now, Kojima explains that the DLC will be available to all as a FREE download. Good news for fans who either only own one console, or own both Playstation and Xbox platforms but only have one copy of Ground Zeroes, like me. I was planning to purchase the 360 iteration of GZ, but it looks like I can breathe a sigh of relief! Also worth noting is that, based on that poster Kojima is holding up, the DLC will be available by May 1st.

If you speak/understand Japanese, or just enjoy Kojima talk without knowing a lick of Japanese at all, check out the episode below.

Word Of The Day: Absurdity

[I decided to add this category to my roster just for kicks, and to see if I could tie any words I may come across into anything Metal Gear. Because, of course!]

An absurdity is a thing that is extremelyunreasonable, so as to be foolish or not takenseriously, or the state of being so. “Absurd” is an adjective used to describe an absurdity, e.g., “this encyclopedia article is absurd.”[1] It derives from the Latin absurdum meaning “out of tune“, hence irrational.[2] The Latin surdus means “deaf“, implyingstupidity.[1] Absurdity is contrasted with seriousnessin reasoning.[3] In general usage, absurdity may be synonymous with ridiculousness and nonsense. In specialized usage, absurdity is related to extremes in bad reasoning or pointlessness in reasoning; ridiculousness is related to extremes of incongruous juxtaposition, laughter, and ridicule; and nonsense is related to a lack ofmeaningfulness.

Sentence usage: As absurd as the Metal Gear Saga is and has been, it still remains one of the most compelling stories to be told in all of video gaming.

The Last Days Of FOXHOUND (reissue 019 – Kinesis)

[The Last Days of FOXHOUND is a fan made comic that I stumbled upon a few years ago while perusing the Internetz as an MGS fan. This strip, created by a fellow MGS fan named Chris Douchette, ran this comic from 2003-2008. I was lucky enough to run into all 500 completed pages and wanted to share them with all of you readers. I’ll try to reiterate each and every consecutive page as time goes on. Most of the humor stems from the going on throughout the MGS series, so those who aren’t too familiar may find themselves slightly lost. My solution: play the MGS games. You guys wouldn’t be here anyways if you haven’t at least played MGS1. Anywho, enjoy!]

MGTAV – Ground Zeroes’ Trailer Awesomely Redone With GTAV Engine

image

I ran into the dopest thing of the day on the internetz. The MGSV: Ground Zerores RED BAND trailer has been recreated as faithfully as possible with the GTA5 engine. I was so impressed that I was actually inspired to take to Photoshop and cobble together my own mashup poster and use it as my header. Below is the GTA5 trailer.

The original MGSV trailer can be seen under what I’m currently typing.

And here is the side by side comparison.

What would be really interesting is if Kojima did a reversal and had Big Boss running around in the GTA5 open world, holding his 1911 in a gangster style “kill shot” pose yelling “GAT GAT GAT” with the Jack Bauer growl. Hilarity.
