Earworm: Bacon Ft. Ty Dolla $ign – Nick Jonas

I am putting this song up as an earworm for one reason and one reason alone.  It’s called “Bacon”.  Other than that, I really don’t care much for this song, but maybe you will. Enjoy!

Please leave us some feedback below, like our FB page, or just like this post.  It would be better too if you can follow us, so you won’t miss out on stuff you really can miss out on…lol.  But seriously, we’d like to know your thoughts, good or bad.

Alvin’s Digital Follies – Toronto’s Fall Colours

I went out last weekend to enjoy some of what the autumn season had to offer.  (more…)

Alvin’s RPOTD: Dinner Tonight…

Here’s a totally random photo… I cooked myself a quick dinner in 25 mins after I got home somewhat late and everyone had already eaten. Recipe below…
Hard boil an egg (if you prefer).

While the egg is boiling, coat your pork chop with a 1 egg white and 2 teaspoon lemon juice mixture, then lightly coat top and bottom of Pork chop with a prepared mix of flour, salt, pepper and a bit of baking soda (I don’t know the exact measurements…but approx. 2 tbsp flour, 1 tsp baking soda and salt and pepper to taste) Fry on medium heat in a preheated pan with canola oil, approx 5-6 mins/side. (The oil should be bubbling and surrounding the pork chop to ensure you brown the batter)

When your boiled egg is cooked (approx 15 mins), drain excess water with enough left in your pot to prepare ramen per package directions. The water should still be boiling hot, so you can toss in the noodles right away!  Add greens (bok choy!) If you wish just before the noodles are cooked.

Place your cooked ramen in a bowl, add a slice of process cheese on top. Add hard boiled egg and your sliced pork chop to complete your dish.

Enjoy!

Labour Day is commonly known as the last long weekend of the summer in Canada and the U.S.  Most people head out of town to cottages or to camp.  This year, because I am doing a bit more travel than expected, I stayed in town.
What to do in Toronto?  Well there are plenty of things to do!  The CNE (locally known as “The Ex”) is still running, and for the first time, the annual Epilepsy Toronto Buskerfest ran this weekend at Woodbine Park.  But before heading over to the Buskerfest, my girlfriend and I decided to go to church, then have lunch.

Well, with 1000 km’s under my belt as a warm-up for this year’s driving season (yes, it was a late start for me), it was time to step up to the big-leagues and head over to Maine.  What prompted me to go?  Well it wasn’t the seafood, that was for sure – I’m allergic to pretty much anything that comes from the water.  I was purely in this trip for the drive and to see the sights! (Warning: Another very long read!) (more…)

The Lechon is ready for serving!

PORK!  We here at Justwroteablog totally enjoy this meat cooked in any way possible, but for the longest time, I have been hunting down ways to cook pork belly prepared like Filipino lechon: crispy, crunchy and salty skin with a slight hint of garlic flavour; (more…)
