Seeking Help – Need your votes!

Attention JWAB nation! I would ask if you all  can just vote for these two talented people.  It is but a small favour for a friend. It’s a simple email entry, and I think it’s 1 vote per 24 hours. Oh, and don’t forget to validate the email so that the vote counts.   This is much appreciated. Thank you!

Earworm: Ellie Goulding – On My Mind

For the last week and a bit since this video was released, I was hooked to this song by Ellie Goulding.  The repeating guitar riff in the verses of this angry piece simply intrigued me.  The tempo and Ellie’s voice kept the guitar sounding very urgent, but it was also the tone of the guitar…where did it come from?

EARWORM: Skrillex and Diplo, Feat. (WHO?!?!) BIEBER(?!!?) – Where Are U Now?

I have to admit, I must have been hiding under a rock because this was the first I have heard the song playing while I biking along Yonge St. during Open Streets Toronto this past weekend. The song was out almost all summer! I caught myself bobbing my head to it.

EARWORM: Calvin Harris + Disciples – How Deep Is Your Love

Calvin Harris first debuted in 2007 with an album called “I Created Disco” and his third solo album, “18 Months” got him international cred. To date, Calvin has 4 albums.

This single collaboration with the London dance trio, Disciples, got my head nodding in the train on the way to work. The video was released on August 6, 2015.

So great to hear fresh stuff coming from across the pond!

EARWORM: MUMFORD & SONS – THE WOLF

My wife brought this song to my attention, and now I cannot stop humming it.  I have to say, this song is very out of the box for Mumford & Sons.  Had I not known it was them, i would have not guessed it was them.  And I think that’s a good thing.  It keeps them fresh.

Earworm: Craig Mack feat. Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J – Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)

We’re still throwing back to the 90’s “EAR”-a (Sorry for the truly bad pun!)

Craig Mack’s Flava In Ya Ear (Original Mix) was nominated but lost out to Queen Latifa’s U.N.I.T.Y in the 1995 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Solo Performance.

This version, below, is arguably among the best remixes of the 1990’s and appeared in Bad Boy’s 10th Anniversary Album.  Enjoy!
