Top 30 Favorite Songs of All Time: #16 “Someday” by The Strokes

I remember first hearing this song on the soundtrack for MLB 07: The Show, the baseball game with David Wright on the cover. Man, this song was good, has been good, and I have a feeling that to me, it will always be good.

This gem is off of their album, Is This It.

The Strokes have slowly been climbing on my favorite artists ladder, too.

If this list were actually structured, this would definitely be in the top 5.

Enjoy the song!

Top 30 Favorite Songs of All Time: #17 “Eyes Wide Open” by Gotye

Ah, yes, Gotye. A hit here in America because of Somebody That I Used to Know. Most people here where I live don’t give two shits for the rest of an artist’s music so long as they have one hit, which, in all honesty, pisses me off. If you find an artist appealing, look further into them. It’s a simple enough task, nearly everyone, even 2 year olds, have access to some sort of browser of the interwebs to view or listen to some songs.

One of my more personally favored songs happens to be what I believe to be his best song off the album Making Mirrors, Eyes Wide Open.

Have a listen, boys and girls.

Earworm: “Many of Horror” by Biffy Clyro

Ah, Biffy Clyro. The band with the mystery name.

Now, you all know by now that I love the Northern Irish band Two Door Cinema Club. Biffy Clyro is a trio of Scots, and I love their music, too.

This here song, Many of Horror, is one of their most popular, and there’s no questioning as to why.

*On a side note, I’m really hoping you guys see that Kaley Cuoco commercial. A, it’s hilarious. B, she is fine as all hell.*

Earworm: “Novacane” by Frank Ocean

Ah, the last Earworm of 2012. I’ve featured Frank Ocean on our Earworm category once before, and I definitely have to feature the sensational artist once more. His music changed my ears forever.

Because of Frank, I was able to remind myself that listening to music is not limited to one genre.

All kinds of music are supposed to be enjoyed. It’s entertainment.

Novacane is one of the Odd Future member’s biggest hits, and it came off of his nostalgia,ULTRA. EP.

I’ve loved this song for the longest time, it’s cracked my top 10 list of favorite songs (and if you think that’s a hint to me posting an Earworm Top 10, you’re a genius. Unless you realized as soon as I said it).

Nevertheless, here, I present to you all, the last Earworm of 2012. Novacane by Frank Ocean.

Earworm: “Stay” by Hurts

Ah, right in the feels.

I am a Whovian. A few months ago, through the fandom, I heard this song. It’s a great song, really. I can’t say that I don’t like it.

But the pain in this song is made more obvious through the fan made music video. There’s no use in explaining it if you haven’t watched the series, and I do highly suggest you watch. It’s brilliant. Fantastic. Bring a banana, because the show is a party. Geronimo! Jump right into it, don’t hesitate. Season 7 part 1 is ending this weekend, and I do not want to miss it.

Here is the official music video:

And here is the fan-made, Doctor Who themed video:
