gangnam style

Earworm: “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz

Funny rap songs. I’m in.

Funny rap songs with meaning behind them? Even better.

The last verse of this catchy and hilarious song actually makes so much sense. Why pay so much money to buy something that won’t even make you look unique? It’s not like buying expensive clothes get you the ladies (or men, or, hell, both). Yeah, the style might help.

But why pay full price? Thrift Shop. This is fucking awesome.

This earworm is literally embedded in my head. I can’t stop singing the hook, and the rapping is actually really smooth. I can dig it.

Earworm: K-Pop Edition – S.E.S – Twilight Zone

With all this ‘Gangnam Style‘ craze, it brought me back some years ago, when a friend of mine got obsessed with this one k-pop group called S.E.S .  I don’t understand the language, but it had a nice beat to it, and, the girls looked mighty attractive, which is why my friend was obsessed with them.  In any case, this is the one song that I could stand to listen.

(Technically Not An) Earworm: Mash ups. I’m impressed.

Just wanted to let you guys hear this tidbit I discovered whilst browsing the vast inter webs. Feel free to right click this link and listen to the sheer impressiveness.
Gangnam Style/Disco/Beethoven Mash Up

I have the best luck.

I love video games. The Big Cheese got me into those addictive little nuggets of happiness.

I have so many memories with Nintendo’s DS line. I received a silver Nintendo DS for my birthday, a few years back. Somewhere along the line, I found a beautifully perfect, white Nintendo DS Lite.

I played my Pokemon games to death on those two beasts, but after my DS Lite broke, I was left without a portable gaming system. Two years, I’ve gone without splurging or asking for a new Nintendo DS, but my PS3 is most likely to be held accountable for that. My PS3 is the only gaming platform (besides my Android phone and computer) that I own and use on a regular basis. I do have a Nintendo GameCube stagnantly seated next to my PS3, however.

Anyway, today brought back some of those memories. The rage-quitting, the pride in finally defeating a gym leader, the shouts of excitement after winning a race in Mario Kart DS, the funny and often inappropriate drawings on PictoChat, the amazing, destructive fun of Bomberman…

What brought such awesome memories back, you ask? Well… Much like how I found the white Nintendo DS Lite, I found myself a white Nintendo DSi. An oldie, but at least it isn’t oversized, like the new 3DSXL or DSiXL.

I’m so happy. Time to break out the Pokemon Platinum and Diamond. Gonna catch me some weird Sinnoh Pokemon.

Earworm: “Gangnam Style” by PSY

Okay, what? I don’t understand a word of this. I’m an American of Filipino descent. The only words of this song I understand are “Heeeeeeeey, sexy lady!” That’s it. But that doesn’t stop Gangnam Style from being today’s Earworm. I hate Korean dramas. I hate Chinese dramas. I hate Filipino dramas. I hate all Asian dramas. Except maybe Japanese anime. That’s something mostly every Asian loves. But then there’s the music. Chinese power ballads. J-pop. K-pop. WHAT IS THIS?! All things Korean have taken over the minds of my generation, but thankfully, it hasn’t caught up to me. I first caught wind of this song when JustKiddingFilms (A YouTube group of film makers, known for being hilarious) made a parody of the song. It definitely helped that the extremely gorgeous Geo Antoinette (http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4bc4nMujn1qc06bjo1_500.jpg) and the insanely hot Holly Lee (http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lrg3y1Xgk81qa4jmro1_500.png) are in the video. But it’s really funny, so here it is. And then, I saw a picture on Facebook posted by WongFuProductions (Another YouTube group of film makers, known for being hilarious and very dramatic). This is said picture. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/540362_10150981849136767_88683596_n.jpg This post led to another parody video called Gundam Style. They replaced all the faces with Gundam heads. Now THAT, is hilarious. Oh, and here is the actual video and song.  The girls in this video aren’t too bad, either. Heh. And finally, the English translation to the song. Within the comments section on YouTube, I learned that oppa is what some girls call a love interest in Korea, because it makes the guy feel manly. And Gangnam is a suburb of Seoul, so Gangnam style is the style of Gangnam. Yes. That literal.
