The Sess resurfaces!

Former G4TV personality, and editor in chief of games content, Adam Sessler has joined Revision3.  It’s nice to see him back in action, and frankly, since his sudden departure on X-Play, I stopped watching it pretty much. I guess the timing was right for him since now, X-Play is gonna be cancelled at the end of the year, and G4TV is switching gears.

To be honest, it’s been just 2 original shows, and a lot of re-runs of Cops.  Anyway, here’s the Adam’s announcement below.

Good to see you back Adam!

Sunset over the lake.

I have a love hate relationship with Instagram. I love it for it’s quick and easy edits on photos, which makes ho-hum cell phone shots into pieces of art, and I hate it cause it’s a quick and easy way to edit photos, and makes us photographers that put hours in the digital dark room processing/editing shots look bad.

In any case, it does show off the one thing a photographer has that cannot be replaced by apps, and what not..and it’s his vision.

I hope you enjoy this quick shot I took over the weekend whilst enjoying a 6 mile walk.

World War Z Trailer

I cam across this whilst perusing the interwebs. Brad Pitt battling hordes of zombies!  So Zombiepocalypse happens, and, we have Achilles himself to save the rest of humanity. Looks very good, and I cannot wait to see more of this.

Sunset

Yet another Instagram post.  This was shot from my desk, nice beautiful orange sky, as the sun was setting over NYC.

This came out a while ago, a way to embed your Instgrams on to WordPress blogs.  I’m quite the avid Instgrammer since it’s release for Android (follow me, instagram.com/gta86), and this news excited me.

Anyway, we did just get power back, and we are still trying to get back to normalcy.  Now we have a storm, a Nor-Easter in fact hitting us up here in the north east.  This will definitely slow down the recovery process from Hurricane Sandy, but it’s not as destructive. I hope everyone out there that were in the area of Sandy is alright, and getting up back on their 2 feet, and also hope that no one they personally know got the worst of it.

Situations like that make you appreciate everything that you have.

So, today’s random photo is a shot I took whilst on my commute home.  Snow covered platform.

HTC Rant: Broken Promises

This is my second Android phone (owner of just about over a year, now), The Droid Incredible 2 by HTC. As a member of the red-eye family, you’d expect the phone to be top of the line, but no. The Droid Incredible 2, at release, was a disappointment. No 4G LTE, apparently HTC decided to give that to the Thunderbolt, a non-Droid phone, which also disappointed many. The feel of the Dinc2 is very premium and sturdy, but it IS a mid-range device, even with the Droid moniker.

Now, being a late adopter of Android, I’m not too disappointed with only having 3G, I don’t travel all that often, so I do get to utilize Wi-Fi, and Verizon’s 3G is no slouch with full service, even at rush hour times.

What DOES disappoint me, however, is Verizon’s (and especially HTC’s) broken promises. The HTC Droid Incredible 2 and the HTC Thunderbolt, after just over 1 year since the release of Android 4.0, still have not received the update to Ice Cream Sandwich. The update was promised by HTC and Verizon to be given before September 1, 2012. It is, at this very moment, November 5th, 2012. Still no update.

The Droid Incredible 2 being a highly capable phone for Ice Cream Sandwich, it shocks me that Verizon still hasn’t rolled out the update. The Incredible S (int’l version of Dinc2) has had the update since July!

I wish I had $250 to spare, then I’d go and pick up a Certified refurbished Galaxy Nexus by Samsung, just like The Big Cheese.

And with the recent release of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (also the name of Android 4.1), my phone is now three upgrades behind. Thanks, Verizon. Thanks a shit load.
