Alvin’s Film Follies (Part XI – Fujifilm Velvia 100 and Killbear Provincial Park)

It goes without saying that I have a preference to 100 speed films.  So, when I spotted this roll of Velvia available at ASA 100, I didn’t hesitate to grab it.  My problem was that I didn’t know where to use it. Enter Killbear Provincial Park!  100 speed is my “comfort food” and the percentage of captures I grabbed using this film was, safe to say, higher than the Velvia 50.

It’s A Weekend Thing…

Alvin here. As you know we are pretty quiet during the weekend on this blog. So I was thinking about putting up a quick blurb during the weekend about happenings around town that I discover.

Snappy Fridays – Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Sing with me!

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out to the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don’t care if I never come back.
Let me root, root, root, for the BLUE JAYS,
If they don’t win, its a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes you’re out,
At the old ball game!

Jezza’s Film Follies – (‘Tri’-ing to be ‘Art’sy)

Con-Ed, an NY utility company. That’s all I choose to say, really.

As I mentioned in my last follies post, the Fujifilm Pro-400H was my 2nd to last expired film (read post here).  Well, this is the last of my expired film: Kodak’s 400 Tri-X professional black and white film.  This is also probably the least aged of my old film, only having expired around late 2013.  This film also gave me a (more…)

Jezza’s Film Follies – (Digital Eyes, Analog Body)

Colours are nice and vibrant

I have to seriously use the film that I get within its sell by date. Having said that, this is the 2nd to last roll of film I have had sitting around for over a year.  That film in question is Fujifilm’s Pro 400h color negative film.  This didn’t have that colour shift that I got from my previous old roll of film (Kodak Chrome 100) which the post can be read here.  But then again, that roll was, I would guess, about 10 years old.

Alvin’s Film Follies (Part X – Experiment With a Flash Gone Wrong…)

In the past few weeks, I’ve had an opportunity to try out shooting with slide film – a roll of Fujichrome Velvia 50.  As I mentioned in my previous post, the roll took 2 weeks to process.  (more…)
