Cheers!
There are tons of events happening this weekend, I don’t know where to go to yet! Here’s my quick list (and brief synopsis of the event) that I can share.
We’re still throwing back to the 90’s “EAR”-a (Sorry for the truly bad pun!)
Craig Mack’s Flava In Ya Ear (Original Mix) was nominated but lost out to Queen Latifa’s U.N.I.T.Y in the 1995 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Solo Performance.
This version, below, is arguably among the best remixes of the 1990’s and appeared in Bad Boy’s 10th Anniversary Album. Enjoy!
The Sony A7R II torn to bits and pieces…check it out here! (Photo source: ifixit.com)
For those of you who love cameras and digital photography, iFIXIT has posted a complete teardown of the Sony A7R II digital mirrorless camera. We’re talking about a full-frame, mirrorless camera, sporting a 42 MP sensor that costs USD 3200!?! This job is not for the faint of heart!
Check out the teardown here!
I just happened to get out of work late today and while walking to the station, I thought I heard some music playing in the distance from my corner of York St. and King St. in Toronto. Hmmm? Music this loud in this part of town? Something’s up!
I recently was invited to attend an event at the Rogers Centre which included watching the Toronto Blue Jays (as you may have seen in my Snappy Friday teaser). It was a great day to be out and enjoy a ball game too, although the skies were much more impressive the day before. In the past few weeks, I have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with Penny, so I borrowed my son’s camera (a Pentax ME Super) to see what sort of photos I would get on this day. Let’s just say, paired with my fisheye lens and a cheap 80-200 telephoto, I was left pretty impressed. Enjoy the pics I have posted, within.
It goes without saying that I have a preference to 100 speed films. So, when I spotted this roll of Velvia available at ASA 100, I didn’t hesitate to grab it. My problem was that I didn’t know where to use it. Enter Killbear Provincial Park! 100 speed is my “comfort food” and the percentage of captures I grabbed using this film was, safe to say, higher than the Velvia 50.
Alvin here. As you know we are pretty quiet during the weekend on this blog. So I was thinking about putting up a quick blurb during the weekend about happenings around town that I discover.
