I remember first hearing this song on the soundtrack for MLB 07: The Show, the baseball game with David Wright on the cover. Man, this song was good, has been good, and I have a feeling that to me, it will always be good.
This gem is off of their album, Is This It.
The Strokes have slowly been climbing on my favorite artists ladder, too.
If this list were actually structured, this would definitely be in the top 5.
Ah, yes, Gotye. A hit here in America because of Somebody That I Used to Know. Most people here where I live don’t give two shits for the rest of an artist’s music so long as they have one hit, which, in all honesty, pisses me off. If you find an artist appealing, look further into them. It’s a simple enough task, nearly everyone, even 2 year olds, have access to some sort of browser of the interwebs to view or listen to some songs.
One of my more personally favored songs happens to be what I believe to be his best song off the album Making Mirrors, Eyes Wide Open.
I know what you’re thinking. “Who the fuck is Lana Del Rey?”
She’s a hipster icon, if there were any other way to describe it.
Many girls in my school, (‘ratchet hoe” or not,) try listening to her music. The majority of those, of course, understand none of it, and still say they “love” her music. Many other girls just plain hate her guts.
I’m by no means in love with her music, but I do believe she has talent. Certain songs are better than others, just like with every artist.
Lana Del Rey has her own unique style and her voice has incredible range. It really helps her that she’s incredibly beautiful (to some, meaning, well, me).
I dig her music, she’s an individual and is a different sound from all the crappy pop that we’ve all been exposed to in the recent months, and her album Born To Die isn’t a bad listen. I like it.
My favorite song off the whole album is Radio, and it is one of those songs that gets imprisoned in your head. It’s been an Earworm for a while, and I’ve put off telling you guys about it until now, and I hope I wasn’t wrong in this decision.
Hope you guys enjoy it, if not, try other songs, too. Don’t be a one track mind! (One track. Get it? Music… heh)
Funny rap songs with meaning behind them? Even better.
The last verse of this catchy and hilarious song actually makes so much sense. Why pay so much money to buy something that won’t even make you look unique? It’s not like buying expensive clothes get you the ladies (or men, or, hell, both). Yeah, the style might help.
But why pay full price? Thrift Shop. This is fucking awesome.
This earworm is literally embedded in my head. I can’t stop singing the hook, and the rapping is actually really smooth. I can dig it.
Indie music. Fun, experimental sounds that grab your attention.
I’ve fallen in love (with indie music) and it’s better than before… and this is one of the songs that I recently discovered with Spotify.
Foster the People gained mainstream success in the past year with the song Pumped Up Kicks, but most of the people I know don’t even bother to look into the rest of a band’s music if they like the sound of one song.
Have a listen, bros! To me, it isn’t just an Earworm, but an eargasm as well. Let us know down in the comments section what you think of the song!
Swag. We’ve all heard of it. People wearing snapbacks and Air Jordan retro’s and what not. But here’s the thing. Rarely will you find one who understands what the brands stand for.
Cheesecake Note: As far as The Big Cheese and I are concerned, swag is the free goodies we get at conventions. It is widely known as that and we shall stick to it.
Everyone knows that Air Jordans were the shoes popularized by The Air Man himself, and they are sold for hundreds to even thousands of dollars. Hats, whether fitted or adjustable, are made by several brands, like New Era and Starter. These brands took root in sports. New Era for baseball caps, Jordans for basketball sneakers… But what about those other brands? Can’t leave them dry, can you? They have backgrounds, too! Some in skateboarding, some in music, some in art. Know your swag.
*This article does not contain EVERY “swag” brand out there, and the summaries are just that; summaries. So if you want to find out more about brands, do some research and support!
