Metal Gear Sahelanthropus Figure Looks Freakin’ Dope!

Toys  these days, they are looking very much detailed to a tee.  Just look at any of Hot Toys  …Toys….  and even the run of the mill action figure is looking more detailed than they have ever been.  Anyway, head on to the link past the break and check out this awesomeness. (more…)

We Play: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

Hey all!  I know I haven’t posted much.  Busy with wedding planning and all, and sort of getting stuck playing InFamous: Second Son.
I still have to get my review of  the HTC One M8, as well as Titanfall, as well as InFamous.  I have yet to actually start the work on these, well, I do have the source material for my Titanfall HAR (Half Assed Review), but I just haven’t been able to put it together.

Anyhow, this is not what this post is about.  About a week ago, Nekked and I did a session on MGS: Peace Walker, and we recorded the whole thing.  Now, it is close to 50 minutes long, and for some reason my audio is very low.  Granted this is the first time we did this, so please bear with us for now.  This is really a test run for some stuff we have planned out.

Hope y’all enjoy it, somewhat.  And if you did, please subscribe to our channel, and like our video…and while we are doing plugs, like our new FB page too! https://www.facebook.com/JWABlog

FINALLY Some MGS News

20130901-194620.jpg

Hey kids. So after a month or so of virtually nothing we finally get some little morsels of MGS news. This post will be a roundup if you will, of the current events that have happened thus far related to anything Metal Gear. Lets get to it.

It looks like NA isn’t the only region that will have gotten their hands on the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection (MGS LC for short). Europe will be the next recipient of this archived collection of past canonical* MGS titles. As with the NA release Europe will also be getting Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (download), VR Missions (download), Metal Gear Solid 2 HD, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD, and the Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 digital graphic novels. The art book will also accompany this collection and will be strictly for PS3 owners. I say the more the merrier. Everyone should get to enjoy MGS as a whole series. Though Xbox 360 owners will be left in the dark. At least they have the HD Collection, which also contains Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (more…)

PGS: KOJIMA X DEL TORO

20130801-121246.jpg

So I got a chance to see PACIFIC RIM a few weeks ago. Giant robots fighting giant monsters? One word: Awesome! The escapist in me thoroughly enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. Every big action scene had me OOHing and AHHing at every turn. It was a welcome break from the mundane routine of life.

As I watched the movie I couldn’t help but imagine a Metal Gear Solid movie done in the same fashion, passion, and gusto. Hideo has mentioned being in talks with Avi Arad, producer of the famed Marvel Comics turned movies that everyone loves. Knowing this, and the fact that Hideo and Guillermo (director of Pacific Rim) have become quite close, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for a real MGS movie to come to fruition. Seriously, Del Toro’s foray into giant robots and monsters was practically a live action outing of MGS Peace Walker‘s ‘Monster Hunter’ boss battles. We all know MH is a Capcom IP but still, those Kaiju look a massive as the MH monsters. Another thing relating PR to MGS: the fact that those giant robots are called Jaegers. Hello, Frank Jaeger anyone?! (more…)

METAL GEAR SOLID: BIG BASTARD

3A is producing, or has been producing, yet another gigantic Metal Gear. This time around its Metal Gear RAY who’s shining in the spotlight. 3A’s last outing was for Metal Gear REX. REX’s ratio is estimated at about 1:48 and I’m guesstimating that RAY will be roughly the same ratio. I’m also assuming the price range will be just as similar at around $599.99. Here are a few new photos to whet your appetites. It’s the size of a gahdamn golden retriever! (more…)

Metal Gear Solid V GDC Trailer

Hot off the pressess from this years Game Developers Conference, Hideo Kojima show’s off the next iteration of his Metal Gear Series.

I haven’t fully seen it yet, but from what I saw, this is making me giddy.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Comes Close To Great, Hampered By Wonky Controls

20130304-011021.jpg

I remember mentioning in a post a few weeks ago that I’d be writing about my endeavors with the recently released game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, by Kojima Productions and Platinum Games. As my paternal/parental duties take precedent I barely have time to even warm up the ol’ PS3 let alone have the energy to concentrate playing the game when I have the chance. Having said that, I was actually lucky enough these past two weekends to squeeze in some playtime between my kid’s requisite bottle feedings, nap times, and occasional fussiness, thanks to my awesome Wife slash mother to the aforementioned rug rat. That, and posting via mobile app actually works for my blogging needs (feeding/burping baby while updating my posts). Hey, a brother’s gotta know how to multitask. Means more content at faster intervals to all you wonderful people! By the by, since I rarely get these precious nuggets of free time to absorb some gameplay, this will be a Staggered review of the game. In other words, you’ll get more information about my impressions as I chip away at it. Alright, let’s get to it.

New Toys

So, I’ve been on the market for a new mouse, gaming mouse, since my regular mouse hurt my hand after a good amount of  playing, and well, it wasn’t just up to par playing MMO’s.  It’s a nice idea to have some buttons within thumbs reach on one hand, just to get an attack or a heal out in the thick of things.  I almost bit the bullet last week on a Mad Catz R.A.T. 7, with full customization’s on the shape and feel of the mouse, the only downside was, that it was wired.  It was also on sale at Best Buy for $79.99 and I had some Best Buy Rewards money, so it would’ve cost me well under what it normally sells for out of pocket.

Well, I ended up procrastinating, and the wired-ness of it turned me off a bit.  I ended up going back to BB today, and check out if it was still on sale, and it wasn’t, BUT the Logitech G700 wireless gaming mouse was, and for a lot cheaper, $59.99.  So I jumped on it.  I just finished installing it, and it is a lot nicer to hold than my previous mouse, and more closer to feel to my old Logitech MX Revolution laser mouse.  (I loved that thing).  I haven’t had a chance to try it on SWTOR yet, maybe later.

While I was at Best Buy, I decided to pre-order the next Tomb Raider, due out next week.  I have been keeping my eye out for this game, as it’s a reboot, and they made Lara Croft more, realistic per-say.  I also picked up Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the recommendation of NekkedSnake.  I’m gonna go eat dinner and try this out real quick, and will post up an initial thought’s segment, and let you know how the first few minutes or first hour is of the game.  I want to get it done by next week, so I can have more time to dedicate on Tomb Raider.

My game’s list is quickly filling, with SWTOR, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and now Metal Gear Rising, I won’t have much time to do anything else.  I can’t even list the other games I have pending, and I won’t even mention the fact that myself and Cheesecake are still playing RE 6.  But this will provide more content for you, our readers.
