Dead Bug

Apologies, I am a bit late in posting this photo.  I was a bit torn on what to post today, and I was also busy at work earlier, and I could not sneak it in.  In any case, I don’t know what sort of insect this is, but I found it somewhere, and I decided to keep it in a film canister for photo purposes.  Set on a white poster board, it made for a nice peaceful photo if you may.

I used my Nikon D700 with the Micro Nikkor 60mm Macro, and a Nikon SB900 flassh pointed up.

Toy cars

These were the first few days I shot of this years, very short, and very much failed 365 set.  My first subject was toy cars, and I did have a ton to shoot, but a trip to Florida, and some other stuff going down quickly put a kibosh on my project. Maybe next year I can get going on it again, maybe.

Awesome Eyes

Shot during last years New York City Comic Con (yeah, LAST YEAR, I missed this years due to procrastination and amnesia), I saw her while on my way out for a quick break. I forget which character she was from, but she had different coloured contact lenses for each eyes, and it just look awesome. Had to get a close up.

More randomness, I mean totally random. I am trying to post stuff I’ve already shot before, and try to bring you newer shots. It’s a win win, since I really do need to get my head back into shooting, regardless of what camera I use, Cell phone, P/S, DSLR or otherwise.

Today I bring you some of the stuff that populate my desk. It’s typical in almost everyone’s desk, but, eh, it had some sort of colour combination or whatever. I thought it made for an interesting instagram shot.

My apologies for skipping a day, I was out with some sort of stomach virus that pretty much took me out all of yesterday and the better part of today.  I am feeling better however, and normal useless posts will resume.

Today’s random photo is Raging Bitch by Flying Dog Brewery.  The name really implies this beer.  It has a mean taste, and a mean bark.  If you don’t heed to it, it will bite you in the ass in more ways than one.  One of my more recent favorite brews.  Pick up a sixer if you ever get to see this around.

My lunch from Terakawa Ramen, 23rd st. and Irving (or Lex.). It’s as good as it looks if not better. It’s a lot of food for $9.oo. A must if you are in the area.

So today is totally random. This was a little treat from our boss. Well the last of the treats, there was another apple pie and a caramel sundae that was already consumed before I took this shot.

Night Runners

Disney Marathoners pounding away the miles at a desserted Walt Disney World. I spot them as we speed by in the monorail. A quick but difficult shot, hardly any light, lots of movement, but I managed to keep it steady enough to make the shot half intesting. This is merely the beginning of their journey, as well as mine.

I actually didn’t shoot this.  My friend shot this, and this image is highly edited.  This was during possibly the greatest vacation I ever took.  End of summer 2009, I went to the Pacific Northwest for a few days for fun and relaxation.  It was all of that and then some.  Just travelling without and stress is a worth ten times more than the cost of the trip itself.

My friend showed me around the Seattle area, and we took a drive down to  Portland, Oregon for the day.  On the drive back, we elected to drive towards the Pacific Coast Highway, to stop by the Pacific Ocean.  We got there a few minutes before the sun started to set.  I took a few shots of my own of the sun set, and little did I know my friend was taking photos of me taking photos of the scenery.  I turned around and saw her, so I decided to take a pic of her also, and this was that photo.  I ended up messing around wit it a bit in photoshop, and I made it look like i was shooting the sunset instead of me taking a picture of her.
