Happy Birthday Day To Cheesecake!

image

Happy Birthday, bud. In order to Commemorate your day I’ve decided to give you the gift of three choices.

1. You can actually try to bake your own Cheesecake.

2. You can decide to take your anger and frustration out in case you burn your cheesecake on Squishy Bird.

3. You can do both at the same time: bake while killing that Fucking feathered Bastard from Flappy Bird.

Anyways, here’s to you!

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Impressions [UPDATE]

Just a quick update on my progress on the Definitive Edition of  Tomb Raider.  Even though I had beaten the PS3 version (100% on the single player campaign), I still find myself enjoying Lara’s rebooted adventure.  It’s actually a bit fun now, as I’m just really toying with the NPC’s, even with Lara’s low skill level at this point in the game.  Anyway, I find the graphics to be great, and it does add another layer of challenge to the game.  Early on in the game, with the weather ravaging and slowing Lara’s progress, with blinding lightning, and rain drops filling the screen, it makes for an added element of hardship, and it makes you feel like you are there.

I mentioned before the jungle seems more livelier on this version as opposed to the PS3 or even the PC version on ultimate.  Lara’s clothes also seemed more detailed.  These are just initial findings though.  I need to catch up on the PC version to see more and do a better comparison graphically.  The few little things that they added to the PS4 version is a nice touch, like using the Dual Shock 4’s speakers for foot steps, gun fire, and other arbitrary sound effects.  It’s not much, but it somehow add’s a lot.  I notice the sound effects sound a bit better.  Once I get my capture rig going again, I’ll post more video’s of all 3 versions.  For now I leave you with some screen shots done via the PS4’s share button.  I did adjust them slightly for clarity.

Earworm: Ed Sheeran – You Need Me, I Don’t Need You

Seriously, I was never a fan of Ed Sheeran, but slowly his songs, his lyrics got to me, and I got on the bandwagon.  This particular one is pretty good, a different tune from what I have normally heard on the radio.  My good buddy, Marky Mark put this to my attention and I really really liked it.  I hope you do too.

Maybe I’ll Wait Till MGSV DEFINITIVE EDITION Comes Out Instead

So it’s come to my attention that MGSV Ground Zeroes (prologue to MGSV The Phantom Pain) main mission will take all of 2ish hours to complete. Game Informer reiterated to Kotaku that they got their hands on a close to final build of Ground Zeroes and, aside from side missions and the exclusive DLC, GZ only took 2 hours to complete. As was stated by Game Informer:

“Judged just by the core story mission, Ground Zeroes is short. We completed it in just less than two hours.”

So barring extras, the prologue seems to be shorter that expected. Well I mean, it IS a prologue, which seems reminiscent of the Tanker chapter in MGS 2. But to it’s credit it was first a free demo which game with a full copy of Zone Of The Enders (ZOE). Nobody pays for a demo version of a game, hence Demo. But Konami are selling this short ride for $30 per disc, $20 for the digital versions, across the board. Kojima has stated that since The Phantom Pain was taking a bit of time to develop that he didn’t want his fans to wait too long, which is why he decided to split the game in two parts, to which GZ was born. Though, as disheartening as this may be, it could be the raddest 2 hours of our lives. There’s only one way to really judge for ourselves.

MGSV Ground Zeroes drops March 18, 2014 for PS4, PS3, XB1, and 360. Whether or not my wishful Definitive Edition happens or not remains to be seen. Till then I will most likely be snatching this up around release.

Whether or not any of you readers watched the superbowl yesterday (i don’t care for it personally), there were a slew of tv spots as usual, as with every year. One of them stood out and was actually the only thing worth watching about the superbowl at all, well aside from the Bruno Mars section, which may I say was awesome.

Guys and gals, JACK IS BACK!!! Kiefer Sutherland will reprise his role as hard nosed Counter Terrorists specialist Naked Snake Jack Bauer in the 9th long awaited season of 24. Also making a return is Mary Lynn Rajskub aka Chloe O’Brien. Here are the two tv spots which aired yesterday:

I’ve personally not had a chance to play my Mass Effect Trilogy, aside from the two demos that exist on PSN but suffice it to say, it’s a great franchise. I can’t speak for myself here but, Robin apparently feels that ME 3’s ending wasn’t that good. I’d like to find out for myself, hahaha.

Sometimes us gamers need a little break from the typical FPS shooter, sports game, or anything action oriented. A video game doesn’t have to make you pull a trigger or slam dunk all the time, right? There are days where actually using your brain would be that much more satisfying. That’s where Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons comes in.
