I am what I am. I like food, photography, and anything that does not involve getting mortally wounded, or dying. I don't take things too seriously, so i'm not at all that serious about being serious. Seriously, just have fun, which is what I like to do sometimes, as long as I don't die, or get mortally wounded.

Thanksgiving, possibly my favorite holiday.  Food, football and Black Friday all form to make it one fantastical weekend.  I enjoy eating food as much as I like photographing them, and this particular one was our dessert selections for that night.  To the left was a caramel apple cheesecake a friend of mine made for me.  It was quite delectable, and is one of the best cheesecakes i’ve had.  To the right, pecan pie my mother made.  with the right amount of sweetness, it made for a great companion with coffee.  In essense this was the double team of dessert deliciousness.

Amazon joins up with Epix – Moar selections!

Awesome news, Amazon Prime just joined up with Epix.  In short us Amazon Prime Subscribers now have more videos to choose from.  Let’s be honest, Prime was sort of lacking compared to Netflix in the video department, BUT it does have other benefits, such as free shipping on orders, and a free book loaned to you every month. (I took advantage of that already by taking out the Hunger Games).

Now I feel even better for getting a Prime subscription rather than Netflix.

Final Fantasy box set announced

Having played pretty about 60% of the major Final Fantasy Games, and being somewhat of a collector, I would so love this to be on my shelf, or storage bin in the basement.

Yes, I do have copies of the re-releases on PSOne, GBA, and whatever else system it came out for, this would still be a pretty major piece for a fan such as myself.  Is the hefty $450.00 price tag worth it though? For me, probably.  It would be so nice if square would just re-do the games to modern standards, but that would take massive amounts of money I am sure they are not willing to spend.  At least give us the best one of them all, Final Fantasy 6.  (yeah, sure, some of you will say FF7 is the best, but let’s not get into that).

FF7 has gotten more attention, with spin-off games, and a movie.  I just wish Square Enix would give us some fan service, and do something for the FF6 camp.

Anyway, it will hit Japanese stores on December 18th.  Who know’s if we will see it on our shores.

Final Fantasy 6 is the best one of them all PERIOD!

Earworm: School week special – “Informer” Snow

In celebration of the start of the new school year, (although i’m not sure if it really is a celebration for some.) this weeks Earworms will be based on songs that reminds us of school.  Not so much as songs about school, but songs that when we hear them, reminds us of the day’s that’s gone by.  Well for me at least, Cheesecake is still in school, so i’m not sure how good he’ll do with our special.

In any case, let me get things started.  My first entry is Snow’s Informer, which was released back in 1992.  It just reminds me of when I was in 8th grade, listening to it at my friend’s house after school, and hearing the ‘cool’ kids singing it or what not.  To this day, it just takes me back to those day’s when I hear this song.

I still like hearing it every now and then, but for the past 10 minutes, it’s been looping in another tab on you tube, and it’s kinda annoying now.

So, I ask this to our ten’s of readers, what song brings you back to the good ole’ days.

Another shot from 2009, I had a lot of time then, as the company I worked for cut back our hours so that everyone can stay employed, and not have anyone get laid off, so to make good use of that extra found free day, I did some photography.  I should honestly find a way to do this again, even if it’s a few shots a day.  I do tend to get rusty, and looking at my shot list this year, it’s severely down from my usual 10k or shots a year.

Anyway, this shot was from a fine spring day in Central Park, NYC, it was quite gloomy, but I still somehow managed to squeeze off a few shots. This particular frame is a weeping willow, somewhere in the park.  I did some processing fun with Lightroom, and managed to produce this.

In addition to my random Flickr Photos, I will start posting my shot with the most hits of the day.

Today’s shot is the lovely Jessica Nigri interviewing a fellow cos-playing as Super Saiyajin 3 Son Gokou of Dragon Ball Z.

Another oldy, but goody.  Shot in 2009 with my trusty old Pentax K-20D (honestly, I don’t know why I don’t use this body more often), it’s a simple shot of an old door at my aunt’s place, leaning, spent, and well used.

I don’t have much else of a story behind this shot, I just found it visually pleasing.

I shot this sometime ago, it was quite a rainy day, and I didn’t get much shooting done cause of it.
I was trying out my Pentax M50 lens, possible one of my favorite lenses in my bag, so sharp, and poppy.
The bird caught my eye, as he’s trying to take some shelter underneath the chair from all this rain. I wish I could have gotten closer.

Earworm: Little Talks – Of Monsters and Men

I’ve heard this song a few times over the last few days, and it’s been resonating in my head for some time now. Finally had a chance to look at the video, and it’s a bit trippy. I think everyone will enjoy it. The song is also, very soothing to say the least, to me anyway.

I think every so often, i’ll just post up a random Flickr Photo from my photostream, maybe to showcase some of my work.  I seriously want to do more work as a photographer, and maybe this will be a good way for me to get my feet wet some more.

First up, I shot this photograph some years ago, having just picked up a Super Takumar 135mm Screw mount for my Pentax K10d. I was sitting in the couch at our old place in NY.  The result was a silhouette of this plant we had on the window sill with a super buttery smooth bokeh.

I should try to use this lens more.
