Walking over the bridge at E.T. Seton Park, Toronto, Canada.

It’s been a while since I’ve put in a regular post! Time to get things back to some form of normal. To do this, I went for a walk around some parks found along the Don Valley in Toronto with my girlfriend and her younger sister yesterday. (more…)

Alvin’s Film and Digital Follies – Taking in Chicago!

As you may have learned, last month I managed to sneak a road trip over to Chicago with my girlfriend.  It was a first time for us to visit this city.  During this excursion, my girlfriend had scheduled us in for three walking tours for the two days that we were in town.

The Lechon is ready for serving!

PORK!  We here at Justwroteablog totally enjoy this meat cooked in any way possible, but for the longest time, I have been hunting down ways to cook pork belly prepared like Filipino lechon: crispy, crunchy and salty skin with a slight hint of garlic flavour; (more…)

Digital Follies – The 2015 Toronto Buskerfest!

I’ve managed to run around Downtown Toronto on Saturday to watch some of the street performers at the Scotiabank Buskerfest. As you know from my Saturday post, this event (the largest of its kind in North America) ran all weekend. Proceeds from the event were donated to Epilepsy Toronto. #donateateatthegate.

Test Driving Follies: Snacking on a Weekend Brownie – The Fiat 500

Last week’s Snappy Friday for me was a photo of Brownie – the name I had given to a Brown (Fiat calls the colour Espresso) Fiat 500 I drove this past weekend while my Jeep Patriot (that I’ve nicknamed Tricia) was in a body shop for a dent repair.  Why did I get this car?  Well the car rental ran out of cars and SUV/CUV’s that were comparable in size to Tricia for the weekend.  I was given this car until Monday and then I would be given a chance to trade up. Read more about what I thought of Brownie by clicking the title or link below.

Alvin’s Film Follies (Part IX – Penny Tries Velvia and A Digital Fisheye?)

Over the past couple of weeks, I was camping and was also waiting for my first roll of slide film (Fujifilm Velvia 50) to come back from the folks at DC. Due to my ignorance, I didn’t know that it would take two weeks for the film to get processed.  “Oh well,” I said to myself,  “What to do in the meantime?”
