Useless Info

Just as the name suggests, it’s useless info.

Happy…Thanksgivikah?

Hey, look who’s FINALLY posting!

It’s been a while, but The Big Cheese and I both figured it was a fitting time to post. We all know we’re thankful that I’m back, am I right?

*cue laugh track*

*cue crickets*

*awkward silence*

Regardless!

On behalf of everyone here at JustWroteABlog and NekkedSnake.wordpress.com, we’d like to ask you to watch this video.

(As well as have a wonderful, Happy Thanksgiving weekend. Safe shopping, fun partying, best wishes.)

Android 4.4 – Kit Kat

As of this writing, the newest iteration of Android, version 4 dot Four or better known as Kit Kat is now available.  Well, sort of.  I still haven’t gotten the push for my Nexus 7.  It is on the newly available Nexus 5, which is available for all carriers that’s not named Verizon.  (seriously, WTF?! I am seriously thinking about moving carriers!).  Google Play editions of the HTC One, and GS4 should get the push shortly, as well as developers editions.  Nexus 4‘s should be getting them soon as well.  (again, Verizon does not have any of the dev. versions of the One and GS4, as well as the Nexus 4, seriously, WTF?!).  HTC made a bold announcement that it will try to get Kit Kat out to the One (that’s not a GPE or a DE) within 90 days.   I am so hoping that will come true, they did do good by shipping out 4.3 to all other carriers other than Verizon this past month, and well Big Red’s version will roll out at the end of November.  (again, SERIOUSLY!? why is Verizon holding back on all this stuff, seriously WHY!?).  Anyway, Kit Kat has a slew of new features, and even though it’s only a dot 1 upgrade, it’s still a significant upgrade.  The video below is from MKBHD.  He explains the top 5 features of Kit Kat, and then some.  Enjoy!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D – Quick Thoughts

Today was the premier of ABC’s new television show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., from producer Joss Whedon, and is basically a spin off or a tie in to the Marvel movies, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Cobie Smulders reprises her role as Agent Maria Hill, as well as Clark Gregg returning as Agent Phil Coulson.  They touched on a bit on what happened to Phil after the event’s of NY, but they elude to the fact about ‘Tahiti‘.  Great hook if you ask me, as it’s still has me wondering what it is.  Anyway, I am just glad there is something new to watch, and something geeky too.  The cast I feel was fairly strong, and Chloe Bennet who plays Skye is just all kinds of cuteness.

Not My Photo – Chloe Bennet – just gorgeous

Ming Na‘s take down of the cop poser was pretty cool, albeit too quickly, but still cool.  She did play as Chun-Li back in the day before settling in as an ER Doctor.  Pacing of the show was good, as well as the set up to what the main subject matter is for the season (the centipede).  I like how it tied in the stuff that was in Iron Man 3.   I wonder if they will tie in stuff from the show in upcoming movies, and kind of continue back to the show.  hmm

Anyway, I am so looking forward to this show, and I am hoping it stays strong.  Something to look forward to at the early end of the week.

Team Four Star Dragon Ball Z Parodies

I first saw Dragon Ball Z right around my 2nd year of HS.  Original with sub-titles.  I was quite ecstatic when I found out they were showing it very early in the AM on some channel I cannot remember, but was utterly disappointed when I heard the English dubs.  Suffice to say, I stuck to watching my old VHS copies with the sub-titles and soon pretty much grew out of it.  DBZ has since made a pretty good run in the US, with the shows being brought on to Cartoon Network, video games coming out for various systems, and then DVD‘s and Blu-Rays.  I was happy w/ the disc versions, since I can switch to Japanese with subs.  Anyway, my cousin brought Team Four Star to my attention not too long ago, it’s an abridged version of the shows, but, they re-did the dubs, and added a ton of humor.  IT IS one of THE funniest things I have watched.  If you like DBZ, I highly suggest you check them out.  They currently have 5 seasons in I think.

Reflections of Facebook

I challenged myself. I surprised all my peers by actually killing myself off of a social network.

Most people that know me would take it upon themselves to call me a social media buff, with an account for nearly everything. A Facebook, a Tumblr (vpshit.tumblr.com), a Twitter (@thisguypatrick), an Instagram (@thisguypatrick), a GetGlue, a Foursquare, Snapchat, a personal Blogger, a Google+, an AIM  (but let’s not kid ourselves here, no one uses that shit anymore), and this currently stagnant WordPress.

Just last week, however, I deactivated my Facebook. I wanted to take time away from the computer, from looking at my phone, from making stupid status updates irrelevant to nearly all of my friends list. And for a bit it worked, barely.

While I no longer automatically click the Facebook bookmark as soon as I open Google Chrome, I do find myself more inclined to open YouTube, Google Music, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Essentially, by taking myself off of one social network, I’ve been able to dedicate more time to other things that require my attention to be on my laptop. And with finals on the way, this does not seem good for me.

I will keep you updated on this.

Yeah, eh?

The Big Cheese and I are in bed together as I type this little document. No, this isn’t some weird ass kinky shit going on. We’re sharing a cozy hotel room in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
