..Kinda. I cam across this from another friends FaceSpace page, and thought it was quite interesting. What if the game’s we played today were done back in the 8 and 16 bit era. Wait, scratch that, they were done back then but with different names, and well, with the limited tech, different perspectives. As a long time gamer, I can’t help but see this parallel. It also makes me excited at how much better it will be in the future. I was blown away when I first played Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2, and now, I still get constantly blown away by the games that come out. Let’s just hope no one ruins it for us, and gives us craptastic titles, with this current head hunt on violence in video games. Time will tell.
I wont even say much about these titles. They are made by Nintendo using their A-List protagonists, and when Nintendo does that, it’s usually most probably going to be awesome. I might as well just hand over some cash to them now, cause these are must get titles. Finally something new to play on my 3DS. I think with these 3 upcoming titles, I would’ve picked up one, but Fire Emblem is awesome in it’s own right. Now, GIVE US ADVANCED WARS!!!
So a friend of mine, let’s call him B-Money, asked me if I had played Far Cry 3. My response was a simple no. Even though it’s a good game, it was never really on my short list, and I have been sort of staying away from sandbox titles as of late. Well anyway, B-Money started telling me about the new DLC for it, and well, after the conversation, it is now on my short list, at least the DLC. Immediately, after I turned on my PC, went to BING, typed in Google, then proceeded to search for Blood Dragon, and just as what B-Money had said, it’s totally over the top, and totally themed after those 80’s cyber cartoons I grew up watching, music, sound effects and all. A few days ago, I finally bit the bullet and bought a Happauge PVR 2 to provide you guys with some additional content on the games we are playing. I had bought this knowing that it will not work with the PS3 using HDMI. Since it has HDCP protection, you need to hook up your PS3 via component connection, and not HDMI. Anyway, the install, and set up on the PC was pretty straight forward. I just had to reset my PS3 video settings to do component since I was hooked up via HDMI. Long story short, after about a 15 or so minutes, installing the software, hooking it up, and resetting my PS3, I was up and running. (more…)
I got the chance to play the game a bit more today, and I did experience my first frustrations. There’s a part where you’re being swept down a mountain by gravity and strong currents and you have to dodge some obstacles. Thing was it was hard to see what to dodge. I died maybe 8 times via impalement in the neck. It was quite disturbing to see Lara get stabbed by a rod in the neck. I guess if you are in that situation, you wont have much time to really move about. After finally managing to get out of that section alive, the next part, which was graphically gorgeous, involved a parachute and some tall trees. Again, you had to maneuver yourself to avoid the trees, otherwise, Lara gets impaled in the torso. (more…)
Before I get cracking on the game, I thought I’d post up the video of the un-boxing real quickly. It’s a nicely put together package. I really need to get a better set up for un-boxing, so bear with me on the first few ones we are going to be posting, or have posted. Enjoy, and stay tuned later for my initial impressions. Right now the game is just looping behind me, and I am itching to play.
After some odd system’s malfunctions at Best Buy, I finally picked up my collectors edition Tomb Raider, as well as the Limited edition guide. After I get a quick bite to eat, I will be doing the un-boxing video, and playing it for a bit, then reporting back to you guys initial impressions.
Yeah, the title is sort of clichéd for this month, but who cares. Anyway, we’re one month closer to closing out the first quarter of the year. It seems like 2013 just started, close your eyes, and we are three months in already. With a few games on my list already released, (Fire Emblem: Awakening, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), it’s not even close to slowing down. In fact, March has 3 games being released that I am looking forward to.
Tomb Raider and Sim City 5 get’s released this coming Tuesday (March 5th), and Army of Two: Devil’s Cartel later on in the month. With a current rotation of 5 games being played (SWTOR, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Resident Evil 6, Medal of Honor: Advance Warfighter) It will be tough to adopt 2 possibly 3 more games on my list. I may have to hurry up and finish at least MOH:AW, and MGR:R so I can tack on TR and SC5.
We have a few things upcoming for you guys in the works, with the addition of NekkedSnake (aka Solid Cheese), our hits have grown exponentially, and we have to keep rolling with it. To kick off, we will be launching our new “Top Lists” segment, starting with our Top 10 Ninja’s. Yeah, there have been many similar lists that have been released in the past from other sites, but I assure you we will add our own spin to it. We are also trying to get some video content out, but as you can see with the list of games up top, it will be hard to squeeze it in, seeing as I am not that experienced with video production as of yet.
But with all of that, it just makes it that much more exciting. We hope our subscribers will enjoy it, and we hope that it will attract new ones as well. Please do not be shy on commenting, and letting us know if you like it or hate it. It will only make us better in providing you with better content.
For now enjoy this video a classic Britney Spears video – Toxic
and, this odd cover from a Static Lullaby – The video is actually pretty good as well as the cover.
I’m not for themed restaurant, but I sure will visit here, if it’s still open, if and when I do visit the land of the rising sun. I’m sure Cheesecake will want to do as well, as we are pretty big RE heads.
