You know, I’ve had one of these for the longest time. I asked for it for Christmas some point along the line, and lo and behold, I got it. A Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Disk. A life size replica of the cool contraption used in the animated series, it’s worth around 100 dollars, according to several online sellers. I think I’ll wait a few more years, then I’ll sell it when it’s worth more. Toys, man. Always a great thing.

Ah, Thirty Seconds to Mars. Your lyrics are enthralling and exciting and ignite that curiosity in your audience. A lot of people like to question the lyrics from any band, and some just like to memorize the lyrics and sing them by heart. With a lot of the songs from the album This Is War, you can only memorize certain lyrics due to the complexity. Lyrics that get stuck in your head and resound over and over and over again. That makes Hurricane today’s Earworm. These lyrics. Just… Echo.

I finally heard the full town hall of Linkin Park on SiriusXM’s Octane Channel, and as a fan it was quite the treat. Learned a few bits of the band that I didn’t know.
Anyway, in the promo’s they kept playing this part where some dude asked about the piano intro for In The End, and I must admit, it is quite epic. I basically just kept thinking about that intro.
Fast forward to when the LP played In The End during the Town Hall, I think Mike made a comment, that in the past 6 or 7 years, it was the first time Chester was able to sing the bridge.
I remember when Cheesecake and I saw LP at MSG in 2011, the crowd pretty much took over for the band when they played In The End, and I must say, it was quite epic.
LP is hands down my all time favorite band, and although In The End was not the song that made me notice them (Papercut holds that title), In The End remains a timeless classic, and possibly one of the songs that propelled the band into the next level.
Fun fact, Chester didn’t even want In The End to be in Hybrid Theory. He thought it was too soft.
The sequel to one of this years biggest blockbusters has been announced. Mark your calendars, as E-P-I-C awomeness will be assembling on May 1, 2015.

The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios’ sequel to the biggest Super Hero blockbuster and third highest grossing film of all time, Marvel’s The Avengers. Joss Whedon returns to write and direct theUNTITLED MARVEL’S AVENGERS SEQUEL set for release May 1, 2015.
Josh Whedon will once again take the reigns as director (and writer), and with a slew of Marvel releases from now until then, May 1, might come faster than you think.
Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and The Guardians of The Galaxy all set in stone, and all paving way to the Avengers sequel. Of course I cannot forget to mention the Edgar Wright directed Ant Man. Edgar Wright movies just excite me.
If anyone stayed after the credits of the Avengers (spoiler alert), we all saw Thanos making an appearance. Perhaps this could be the start of the Infinity Gauntlet/Infinity War series.
All exciting stuff, and I so cannot wait.

That’s what I heard through out the majority of the day. I just cannot comprehend why a major telecommunication company has trouble transferring service from one floor to the next in the SAME building. And it also baffles me how their internal system cannot keep track of who’s coming when, and when that will be on what date to get us back up and running. This so called company which sounds much like Horizon, gave us the run around as our little office moved one floor down.
What does this have to do with my Earworm for today, well, Marky-Mark (my co-worker) was, at the same time, also on hold waiting for a conference call to commence, and as he was holding, (he put his phone on speaker), the Peanuts theme was being used as the hold music, and both of us kept humming it, well after he had hung up on his phone follies.
While I kept hearing “Your call is very important to us, our next available representative will be with you shortly”, I kept humming. It has since been an Earworm since.
Okay, quite honestly, this is one of the greatest commercials I’ve ever seen. Potentially, if the company went all out and expanded on these commercials, it could run alongside those Old Spice commercials with Isaiah Mustafa and Terry Crews.
The commercial pokes fun at Gillette and Schick and all those other brand name razor companies. I don’t have much facial hair, so I don’t particularly pay attention to the prices of these products. But I know they can be pretty expensive, am I right?
This commercial just tells the truth, and is the funniest commercial I’ve seen for a while.
Hey, everyone! The song stuck in my head today is Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) by The Wombats.
It’s a catchy British indie rock tune, and it’s a song that’s been around for quite a while, now (released in 2010).
Sure, the song isn’t normally what I’d listen to, but it doesn’t hurt to expand your musical spectrum. I do have a few indie songs in my library, but I do mean very few. Less than 10, I believe. Maybe I should listen to the genre more?
The Wombats have been a band since 03, and it’s safe to say they have a steady fan-base worldwide, but I’d assume they’re more well known in Europe, considering they are a British indie rock band.

Well, the song stuck in my head today, (and quite frankly, for the last few days) is By My Side by David Choi. I do plan on singing this, when the time comes, at my wedding. Too early to be deciding who that special woman is, but seriously, this is to be at my wedding.
Choi is a really talented Asian-American artist who has found his fame on YouTube. He generally composes ballads, and oh are they ever so sweet. By My Side, however, just takes the cake.

As i’m sitting there, piping up some sink or something at work, and sort of not paying attention to whatever was playing on SiriusXM, my co-worker suddenly says; ” Oh, I like that song, turn it up!”
I look over, and for the 3rd time that day (the 14th of Aug.), this ‘Too Close’ by a one Alex Clare was playing. I didn’t really pay attention to the first 2 times they played it, but now since my co-worker likes this song, I was more than inclined to pay attention to it a bit. I have to say, not quite what I normally listen to, but it was pretty good. Bit of a dub-step going on in there also. He (my co-worker, which we shall call Marky-Mark) mentions that he first heard this from a commercial, of which he could not remember. A quick google and voila, it was used in Microsofts IE spot.
