Earworm: Lost in the Echo by Linkin Park

Okay, a first for me, and more to come in the future.

This is my first Earworm post chronicling my favorite band of all time. I’d held back on writing about them, for their songs are literally always stuck in my head. I know the lyrics to all the songs off of their 5 albums, trust me. The Big Cheese can attest to this.

But this one is special. Although it isn’t the first song I heard off the album (it would’ve been “Burn it Down”), it, for me, marked the return of Mike’s rap, something that has been gone for a while. It reared its head here and there, but in “Lost in the Echo,” it became obvious clear that Mike Shinoda still has the rhythm and rhyme.

During an assembly for school, a video was shown. The title intro song? LOST IN THE ECHO. I damn near just got up out of my seat, walked on stage, and started singing it. Wish I had.

Oh, and the music video just came out, about a month ago. It released as an interactive video. You linked your Facebook account to the video and the characters interacted with you, using your photos as the memories that were “lost in the echo.”

Earworm: “Woo Boost” by Rusko.

Um, well, yes, this is dubstep. Woo-woo-woo-bahbahbah-woop. That kinda ish, y’know? The noise your grandparents complain about.

I guess this is a popular dubstep song to begin with, but I heard it first just this weekend in an Adidas outlet store in Deer Park, Long Island. Heard it playing and instantly knew I had to Shazam it.

Not a bad tune to get the energy flowing when painting or drawing or on a photography shoot or driving or whatever you’re doing. Played it all day today when I was drawing. Drawing, drawing, drawing. Arts.

All I can think about lately is arts.

Oh, and the fact that technology is failing on me. My phone is breaking again, although I can safely blame one or two apparatuses, one being the actual charging port itself, or the charging cable I am using. And my mom’s laptop literally crashed as soon as I turned it on.

One of  my fave shots during the ‘Where is Garfield Now’ era, or WIGN for short.  I just did some play with some lights, and made one of my Alien toys, stalking Garfield.

I really ought to bring back a similar series. The original Pez dispenser is all beat up, so I should pick up another similar one.

Nigri For a Cause.

We all love Jessica Nigri. A beautiful girl that loves video games and cosplaying. Damn.

Philip DeFranco, one of my favorite YouTubers, is starting a new project. And to help kickstart said project, he filmed with Jessica Nigri.

Be prepared for some tight-clothed awesomeness.

I have the best luck.

I love video games. The Big Cheese got me into those addictive little nuggets of happiness.

I have so many memories with Nintendo’s DS line. I received a silver Nintendo DS for my birthday, a few years back. Somewhere along the line, I found a beautifully perfect, white Nintendo DS Lite.

I played my Pokemon games to death on those two beasts, but after my DS Lite broke, I was left without a portable gaming system. Two years, I’ve gone without splurging or asking for a new Nintendo DS, but my PS3 is most likely to be held accountable for that. My PS3 is the only gaming platform (besides my Android phone and computer) that I own and use on a regular basis. I do have a Nintendo GameCube stagnantly seated next to my PS3, however.

Anyway, today brought back some of those memories. The rage-quitting, the pride in finally defeating a gym leader, the shouts of excitement after winning a race in Mario Kart DS, the funny and often inappropriate drawings on PictoChat, the amazing, destructive fun of Bomberman…

What brought such awesome memories back, you ask? Well… Much like how I found the white Nintendo DS Lite, I found myself a white Nintendo DSi. An oldie, but at least it isn’t oversized, like the new 3DSXL or DSiXL.

I’m so happy. Time to break out the Pokemon Platinum and Diamond. Gonna catch me some weird Sinnoh Pokemon.

Earworm: “Stay” by Hurts

Ah, right in the feels.

I am a Whovian. A few months ago, through the fandom, I heard this song. It’s a great song, really. I can’t say that I don’t like it.

But the pain in this song is made more obvious through the fan made music video. There’s no use in explaining it if you haven’t watched the series, and I do highly suggest you watch. It’s brilliant. Fantastic. Bring a banana, because the show is a party. Geronimo! Jump right into it, don’t hesitate. Season 7 part 1 is ending this weekend, and I do not want to miss it.

Here is the official music video:

And here is the fan-made, Doctor Who themed video:

Earworm (Cartoon Themes): “Gotta Catch Em All!” Pokémon Theme Song.

This theme song is one of the very best. Like no one’s ever was. It caught all fans. Sorry. Getting too corny here. Pokémon is hands down one of my all time favorite shows. This theme song is insanely catchy. Prepare to be Earwormed. (Although I couldn’t quote exactly find the real video to accompany this wonderful example of my childhood, this should suffice.)

Earworm: “Toxic” by Britney Spears

First off, this song is awesome. No dispute from anyone. This song, is just… epic.

I’m addicted, okay?

Oh, the diversity of my music library! This killer song is on repeat, and it’s now my Earworm.

There should be no need to explain the awesomeness of this song to anyone. Or the video. Britney is damn sexy in the video. Just… awesomeness all around for this song.

*I do apologize for the possible Nicki Minaj image that appears if you decide to watch this intense jam on YouTube.

**Nicki Minaj is no bueno.
