Top 30 Favorite Songs of All Time: #19 “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton

We’ve now entered the teens of this list, my friends.

Macklemore, basically known by all teenagers as one of the minds behind the great song Thrift Shop, is an amazing lyricist. His lyrics actually represent values that aren’t about money, prostitutes, jewelry, crime, drugs, or anything of the like. He speaks against music like that, and his message is always presented in unique ways.

This song, since the well deserved rise in fame of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, has been featured in several commercials, especially for the NBA.

Anyway, let’s get to the song. Ray Dalton’s voice really made me think it was John Legend at first.

Pikachu 3DS XL Coming Stateside?

Not sure how i feel about carrying a huge 3DSXL with Pikachu’s mug on it, but I am excited to see it in a commercial. And speaking of that commercial, it reminds me of those after school commercials of yesteryear.

When the special edition Pikachu 3DS XL was original announced as a Japan-only release, I was super jelly. But, just when I thought we would never get any of the cool special edition handhelds over in the US, the team at the official Pokemon Facebook page started teasing the announcement of some Pikachu related news coming tomorrow.

Top 30 Favorite Songs of All Time: #20 “Eat That Up, It’s Good For You” by Two Door Cinema Club

Yes, another Two Door Cinema Club song.

I’ve always been one for a good music video to leave the impression of the song in my head. The better the music video, the better the song is. Of course, a music video can be ruined by a bad song, but not the other way around, in my mind. A good song, if good enough, can always redeem a bad music video.

This song is definitely in a top ten for an organized list of my favorite songs (hint, hint).

And this music video is just… fantastic.

Tomb Raider: Impressions

There’s not too many game’s that I own (and I do have a pretty hefty collection) that I can safely say I have enjoyed playing every second of.  I can probably count it with one hand.  The reboot of Tomb Raider is one of them, so far.  It’s been about a week since I had purchased the game, and I’ve played about an hour or so since (minus the weekend).   Even the QTE filled first hour or tutorial segment wasn’t as annoying as I had anticipated.  Anyway, this new iteration of Tomb Raider is so much more like Naughty Dog‘s Uncharted, rather than the Tomb Raiders of old.  Now, even though I own a couple of the older games, I haven’t really played them, so I cannot make a direct comparison yet on how the game evolved.  (Perhaps i’ll crack open my XBox 360 Anniversary edition and give it a go)
